4 corners report: news from Melrose and the surrounding counties of Alachua, Bradford, Clay and Putnam

VyStar Credit Union representatives said during an Oct. 15 school board meeting that the organization will invest $150,000 into a student-run credit union within Palatka High School.

Randy Swift, senior vice president for marketing services and Bonita Lookadoo, branch vice president, said the goal of the branch would be to teach financial literacy to students and to give them hands-on experience working in the financial services industry.

Now, VyStar operates two student-run branches in Clay County and two more in St. Johns County.
