Tigers head to regional finals with win over Crescent City, 41-13

Even with a nearly two-hour drive to get there, the Union County High School fans far outnumbered the hometown crowd at Crescent City High School, braving a drizzly Friday night game to see their Tigers beat the Raiders, 41-13, in the regional semifinal matchup on Nov. 15. That means the Tigers head to the regional finals for a rematch on Friday, Nov. 22, against the Dixie County High School Bears in Cross City, where they lost the first time around, 12-30.

UCHS head football coach Ronny Pruitt told the team after Friday’s game, “They’ve got something of ours: It’s respect. We’re going to get it back.”

The players seemed ready to do that and more. Daquin “Buddy” Edwards shouted out: “Let’s go get some Bear, boys!”
