Melrose to upgrade business sign

The Melrose Business and Community Association plans to upgrade the town’s welcome sign on S.R. 26 on the west side of the community. The placard now greets eastbound traffic on the two-lane coming from the direction of Gainesville. MBCA officers say they plan on receiving submissions from the public for a new sign design and will narrow the field during the group’s May 14th meeting. The group will then display the finalists at Gallery 26 for a vote to determine the winner. MBCA member Joe Rush is overseeing the project.
