March 3 is deadline to apply for Clay property tax exemptions

The Clay County Property Appraiser’s office said the statutory deadline to apply for tax exemptions is March 3.

First-time applicants must bring their deed, proof of residency, and provide the social security numbers of all applicants. Mobile home owners should also bring the title or registration to the mobile home. Applications may be filed at our main office in Green Cove Springs, located on the 2nd floor of the Administration Building, or at our Orange Park branch office located at 1518 Park Avenue.

Once the initial application has been filed and granted, your exemption application will be automatically renewed each January, and a renewal notice will be mailed to you. If you still live in the home, and qualify for the exemption, no action is required; keep the notice as your receipt and continue to enjoy the benefits of lower taxes. It is your responsibility to notify the property appraiser if your eligibility for exemptions has changed.

For more information, please visit our website at, or contact our office at (904) 284-6305 to speak with an exemption specialist.
