KHHS’ Lowery takes head football job at Interlachen

Keystone Heights High School assistant football coach Lantz Lowery has been hired to be the head coach of Interlachen High School.
Lowery, who spent the last nine years as the head junior varsity coach and was also the school’s head boys’ weightlifting coach, said he looks forward to taking over an Interlachen program that has had little success.
“I have to say I’ve always been absolutely intrigued when we play against them because they have athletes,” Lowery said.
Lowery has spent all 13 years of his coaching career at KHHS after working previously for UPS.
The level of success he achieves at Interlachen remains to be seen, but Lowery said his plan is to be there for a while.
“I am not going there with the idea that in three or four years I’m leaving,” Lowery said. “I’ve got 10 to 15 years I want to do this. I would really like it to be (at Interlachen).”
