The Keystone Heights High School culinary arts program announced the winners of its annual gingerbread decorating contest.

This year, teams drew names of structures that would typically be in a town such as a church, school, firehouse, grocery, bakery, hospital, gas station or restaurant.  They then had six hours to create the buildings in gingerbread and candy.

This year’s winners are:

First place, Firehouse by Brittany Filing and Melissa Fain,

Second place, Bakery by Shelby Hart and Leslee Rowe,

Third place (tie), Gas Station by Steven Trimble and Brandy Dennis and Church, by Brittany Franz and Brianna McCarty,

Honorable Mention, School, by Dylan Beard and Elin Cornett.

Submitted by Meri-lin Piantanida, Culinary Arts Instructor, Keystone Heights. High School.
