Keystone Heights High School senior soccer player Logan Stanley accepted a scholarship from Thomas University in Thomasville, Ga., signing his necessary paperwork on May 8 in the KHHS gymnasium.

“This was not expected,” said Stanley, who admitted he was holding out hope for a football offer. “I went up for a tryout. They liked what they saw. They said, ‘We’ll give you a full ride.’ I said, ‘I’m taking it.’”

Stanley hopes to play forward, but is open to playing any position Thomas University needs him to, which is something he did at KHHS as well.

Keystone head coach Trevor Waters said Stanley’s athleticism and effort are his biggest attributes.

“The biggest thing about Logan was during the games he always gave 150 percent,” Waters said. “He was very active. He always gave the effort. Even if we weren’t successful, he gave the effort. That’s being a competitor. That’s his biggest plus. That and his athletic ability.”
