Keystone Heights High School senior Madison Colaw will continue playing soccer at Division II-level Florida Southern College in Lakeland, signing her letter of intent during a scholarship-signing ceremony on Feb. 25 at KHHS.

Colaw, who said she was both thankful for and humbled by the opportunities God has given her, said she likes the Florida Southern campus and what the school offers both academically and athletically.

She also enjoyed meeting head coach Brittany Jones.

“I think the coach really stood out,” Colaw said. “That was a big part of my decision because she seems like she really wants to get to know the girls and connect with them.”

Keystone head coach Kenny Seneca said Colaw is a player who brings much to the field in order to help her team be successful.

“She can draw the defense and dish the ball off,” Seneca said. “She can score goals, but she can also just make everybody around her better.”

Former KHHS coach David McCollum added that Colaw has a good understanding of the game and is a hard worker on and off the field.

“She’ll go far,” McCollum said.
