The students in the KHHS health occupations program took a tour of a Shands Cair medical helicopter. The aircraft landed on the old KRA field and the crew including the pilot, a registered nurse and an emergency medical technician spoke to the students about the responsibilities of working on the medical helicopter.  They also showed the students around the inside of the aircraft.

Clay County Fire and Rescue Capt. Gary O’Connor arranged the tour for the students.

All of the students are seniors and are pursuing careers in the field of health after graduation from high school in May. After completing the program, they will be eligible to take the state of Florida’s nursing assistant exam and receive their CNA certificate.
