Katherine Van Zant extends fundraising lead

KEYSTONE HEIGHTS — Florida House District 19 candidate Katherine Van Zant reported nearly $22,000 in December campaign contributions, bringing her total to almost $110,000, which is more than the combined contributions of her three opponents.
Van Zant’s husband, Charles Van Zant, currently represents District 19, which covers all of Bradford, Union and Putnam counties, in addition to southern Clay County. The incumbent is prohibited from seeking reelection because of term limits.
The other candidates for the seat have raised a total of $92,758.
Palatka resident and Seminole Electric employee Bobby Payne, a Republican, has raised $50,225.
Leslie Dougher, Clay County Republican Executive Committee Chair and former head of the state party has raised $40,983.
Democrat Joe Snodgrass, of Crescent City has raised $1,550.
