Interlachen bank robber turns himself in, gives back money

Monitor Editor

A man who Putnam County deputies say robbed the T.D. Bank in Interlachen on Sept. 20 turned himself in five days later and gave deputies the money he took from the bank, according to the sheriff’s office.

Fareed Michael-Reshard Johnson, 21, of Gainesville was charged with robbery.  The charge against Johnson is not proven and he is presumed innocent until adjudicated guilty by a court.

Capt. Homer “Gator” DeLoach of the sheriff’s office said investigators began looking for the Gainesville man after the Marion County Sheriff’s Office forwarded a tip to them.

When Johnson heard detectives were looking for him, he turned himself in along with the $3,000 he obtained during the heist.
