Haven Hospice said over 200 people marked the one-year anniversary of the Custead Care Center opening during an Oct.17 reception in Orange Park.  Haven Hospice also introduced the facility’s new administrator during the event:  Al Rizer.  The Orange Park Medical Center sponsored entertainment during the event, and Anthony’s Catering of the First Coast catered the reception.

In a press release, Haven Hospice said its Custead Care Center offers patients and families a welcoming and relaxing environment with places to gather such as living rooms, family kitchens and outside gardens for a less clinical setting. The organization added that in 2012, senior living experts recognized the Blanding Boulevard facility for its connection to the outdoors and thoughtful integration into the surrounding natural environment.

Haven Hospice said the Custead Care Center is the fifth, free-standing Haven Hospice care center in North Florida and the only free-standing hospice care center in Clay County. With over 29,000 square feet, the facility is a Level 3 hurricane shelter and opens its community room as a meeting place for non-profit groups.
