The owner of Harvey’s Supermarkets said it will close its Green Cove Springs warehouse next year.

In a notice to the state of Florida, Delhaize America LLC said it will lay off 116 workers at the facility on Feb. 9.

Last May, Delhaize America agreed to sell 72 Harvey’s Supermarkets, 72 Sweetbay stores and 11 Reid’s stores in South Carolina to Bi-Lo Holdings, which until September owned the Bi-Lo and Winn Dixie brands.

Bi-Lo said that after the acquisition is complete, most of its Harvey’s stores, including one between Keystone Heights and  Melrose, will remain branded as Harvey’s stores, with some converted to Winn-Dixie or Bi-Lo.

In September, the owner of Bi-Lo holdings, Lone Star Funds, formed Southeastern Grocers Inc., moved ownership of the brands to the new company and said Southeastern would file an initial public offering for $500 million.

The 832,000 square-foot facility in Green Cove Springs opened in 1988.
