Deputies: man arrested for breaking into Interlachen High School

INTERLACHEN – The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said it arrested a man for breaking into Interlachen High School on New Year’s Eve.

According to a press release, detectives Larry Sapp and Mark Stroger discovered several broken windows and approximately $10,000 of damage to computers and electronic equipment after responding to a call from the school.

The detectives also found that a patrol car which was parked near the sheriff’s office west district headquarters was also burglarized and vandalized.

Sapp and Stroger identified James Burke as the perpetrator through video surveillance.

They found Burke at a residence near the school and arrested him for burglary and criminal mischief.  Burke was booked into the Putnam County Jail on a $3,012 bond.
