Clay deputies looking for purse thief

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to solve an auto burglary in Keystone Heights it says occurred Feb. 20.

According to a sheriff’s office report, the owner of a gray F-350 told a deputy that sometime between 1:00 and 1:15 p.m., a suspect smashed the front passenger window of the truck and made off with her purse. The victim’s driver’s license, three bank cards and a $9,000 tennis bracelet was in the purse. At the time of the break-in, the Ford pickup was parked beside Genesis Fitness.

The following day a video surveillance   camera captured the image of a woman using one of the victim’s bank cards at a drive-thru. The sheriff’s office is asking that anyone with information about this crime call Detective Jermaine Boone at 904-264-6512.
