Clay County elections office moving

Clay County Supervisor of Elections Chris Chambless said his office will be relocating to 500 N. Orange Avenue in Green Cove Springs (the old Robert’s Chevrolet building), throughout April.

Chambless said in a press release that the new office will offer voters many benefits, including a separate entrance for early voting and space for in-house poll worker training.

He claimed the new building will also save taxpayers approximately $36,000 per year in rent alone, compared to the old location, with additional savings coming from energy efficiencies.

Chambless added that the  renovations to the new building came at no additional cost to the taxpayers.  He said the property owner bore all costs to improve the former car dealership.

Chambless said he anticipated the move would continue throughout April. The office’s telephone numbers and mailing address will remain the same.
