Quarterback Jacob Luke threw three touchdown passes, while Jarvis DeSue and Tra’von Thomas powered a running game that accounted for more than 300 yards in a Bradford High School football scrimmage on May 16.

Bradford head coach Steve Reynolds said it was the exact opposite of how spring practices had been going. The defense had been performing better than the offense, but the unit made few stops during the scrimmage, in which the offense gained more than 500 yards and scored seven touchdowns.

Reynolds said his team needed to get to a point where the play is good on both sides of the ball.

“Instead of this see-saw, we need to have consistency on both sides,” he said.

Luke completed 10-of-12 passes for approximately 190 yards. Kenny Dinkins and Don Jeffers each caught three passes for approximately 60 yards, with each catching a touchdown pass. Jeremy McCollum caught one pass, which was good for a 46-yard touchdown.

Thomas gained approximately 200 yards on the ground and scored three touchdowns, while DeSue gained approximately 140 yards and scored once.

Vincent Brown and Clayton Woods each had a sack for the defense, while Keaaris Ardley had an interception.

Ardley was also 3-for-3 on extra-point attempts.
