Calvin “Pete” Schlosser, 79, of Starke died Oct. 14

Calvin “Pete” Schlosser, age 79, of Starke, Florida passed away October 14, 2012 at Bradford Terrace Nursing Home. He was born in Henry, IL on November 05, 1932 to the late Calvin W. Schlosser and Murial Craven-Schlosser. Calvin was a member of the Northside Baptist Church and was also a member of the Cattleman’s Association and Bradford County Board of Adjustment. Pete retired from the United States Navy after 23 years of dedicated service to his country and also retired after 21 years as a Health Inspector with the State of Florida, where he was known to many as Handle Bar Pete. Pete was preceded in death by his 3 brothers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, JoAnn Schlosser of Starke, FL; his children, Pete (Sheila) Schlosser and Angela (Kyle) Schumacher both of Starke, FL; his sister, Elaine Hund of Tucson, Arizona; 6 grandchildren; Jessica, Erica, Justin, JoAnna, Elissa, and Leeana; and 1 great-granddaughter, Abigail, all residing in Starke.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Archie Tanner Funeral Services with Pastor Larry Finley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at a later date in Henry Cemetery in Henry, Illinois. Arrangements are under the care and direction of ARCHIE TANNER FUNERAL SERVICES, Starke.
