Bradford High School senior Lindsey Wiggins signed a letter of intent on March 5 to play softball at Webber International University in Babson Park.

“It’s something I’ve always wanted to do—get my education and play the sport I love to play,” Wiggins said. “It’s been a dream of mine since I was little. I’m so glad I’ve finally accomplished that.”

Bradford head coach Daniel Davis said Wiggins, who plays first base and has been a starter since her freshman year, has put in the effort necessary to get better and earn this opportunity.

“She is one of the hardest workers we have,” he said. “She’s also extremely tough. She’s not afraid to get hit by a pitch and do whatever is necessary to get on base to help our team. She’s a very unselfish player.”

That hard work will continue. Wiggins said she when she steps onto the field for the first time as a college player, she will probably feel “something to the effect of the way I felt when I stepped onto the high school field my freshman year. ‘All right, I’m a freshman. I’ve got to earn my way up here.’“That’s the same way I look at (this opportunity).”
