Bradford High School senior football player Don Jeffers received a scholarship from LaGrange College in Georgia, signing his letter of intent during a May 28 ceremony in the BHS weight room.

“I’m very excited,” Jeffers said. “It’s a new chapter in my life. It’s a fresh start, but I also get to continue playing football. It’s something I’m very excited about.”

Bradford head coach Corey Green coached Jeffers for only one season, but he said he knew from the start that Jeffers was special. Sure, the linebacker was named the team’s MVP this past season, but Green said Jeffers’ qualities go beyond what he brings to the football field.

Having said that, Green sees Jeffers succeeding at football and life in general.

“Whatever he chooses to do, he’s going to be successful at it,” Green said. “He’s going to be a good football player in college, and whatever career path he goes down, Don’s going to do a good job at it.”
