IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR DRINKING WATER

Chemical Monitoring Public Notice

What happened?

Our water system did not meet the requirements of a drinking water rule. Although this is not an emergency, as our customers, you have a right to know what happened, what you should do, and what we are doing to correct this situation.

We are required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not your drinking water meets health standards. During the monitoring period 2015, we did not monitor or test for Nitrate / Nitrite, and therefore cannot be sure of the quality of your drinking water at that time.

What should I do?

Infants below the age of six months who drink water in excess of the MCL could become seriously ill and, if untreated, may die. Symptoms include shortness of breath and blue baby syndrome.

Any customers who are concerned about their exposure to the drinking water can choose alternative sources of water for ingestion.

What does this mean?

This is not an immediate risk. If it had been, you would have been notified immediately.

What is being done?

Sampling was completed on January 19, 2016. All test results came back with in guidance with FDEP and EPA regulations.
