Keystone Heights High School scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to break a 1-1 tie and defeat Santa Fe 5-1 in the semifinals of the District 5-4A softball tournament on April 18 at Fort White High School.

Vanessa Munoz forced in what would prove to be the winning run when she drew a bases-loaded walk to make the score 2-1. A single by Taylor Morris scored another run, while an error on a pop-up by Kristen Wood pushed the last two across.

Morris was the only Keystone batter with more than one hit, going 2-for-3.

Pitcher Kelsey Waters gave up four hits, while striking out five.

The Indians (12-10), who are the tournament’s second seed, will play top seed Bradford for the district championship on Friday, April 19, at 6 p.m. Bradford advanced to the title game by defeating Williston 10-0.
