58-6 loss to Raines ends Tornadoes’ season

Bradford High School was held to 76 yards in a 58-6 loss to third-ranked Raines in a Class 4A regional semifinal football game on Nov. 15 in Jacksonville.

The Tornadoes (3-7) fell behind 26-0 in the first half, but got a 58-yard touchdown pass play from Jacob Luke to Kenny Dinkins to make it a three-score game at the half.

Raines equaled its first-half output in the third quarter, scoring 26 points and putting the game away. The Vikings scored on a punt return and an interception return as well as getting two touchdown passes from quarterback Marvin Zanders. Zanders was 12-of-20 for 257 yards and three touchdowns overall.

Zanders also had two touchdowns rushing and finished with 56 yards on the ground.

Bradford gained just 8 yards in the second half.

Dinkins finished the game with two receptions for 66 yards. He also had a kickoff return of 55 yards to open the second half.

Luke was 2-of-4 for 66 yards in the first half, but did not complete a pass in the second half.

The Tornadoes were held to 10 yards rushing, with Luke getting sacked six times.
